Gamestop will start selling Vizio TVs with FreeSync and variable refresh rate even though the Playstation 5 doesn’t support them

Everyone and their mothers are trying to bank in on the next-gen console craze including Kentucky Fried Chicken and Philadelphia Cream Cheese. This latest move, however, makes a bit more sense for all gamers involved. Vizio has announced that it will be partnering with Gamestop to sell and showcase its lineup of smart TVs and sound bars fit for next-gen gaming and 4K playback.

According to the press release, at least 26 different smart TVs and sound bars will be made available through Gamestop.com ranging from the the dorm-friendly 24-inch D-Series to the hulking 85-inch P-Series Quantum X. Some of these models support Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Auto Game Mode, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and AMD FreeSync to enhance the gaming experience or make gaming easier for users who don’t like to fiddle around with TV settings.

Unfortunately, not every console will be able to benefit from all of these Vizio features. Unlike the XBox Series X or S, the Playstation 5 does not support VRR or FreeSync at the moment and so these features will be incompatible with Sony’s machine. Sony is expected to add VRR support in the near future, but owners will have to live with some screen-tearing until then.

See the press release below for the full list of Vizio models now available at Gamestop.
