April is here and with the arrival of a new month, millions of Americans are awaiting their Social Security payment.

Not all households in the United States can receive these payments on the same days and this April 3, some beneficiaries will be able to collect their payment.

What specific group will be able to receive their Social Security benefits on April 3?
This Thursday’s check will go to Americans who applied for retirement benefits before May 1997.

The payment amount can reach up to $5,180 for elderly retirees and up to $4,018 for disabled retirees.

Although, according to the Social Security Administration (SSA), most retirees receive an average of $1,907 per month.

People who are not part of this group will be able to enjoy their payment another day of the month.

It should be remembered that the beneficiaries of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI), received their payment on April 1. The SSI payment was up to $967 for individuals and $1,450 for people with an eligible spouse.

  • April 1: SSI recipients will receive their payments, including the 2.5% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA). No delays are expected, as April 1 falls on a Tuesday.
  • April 3: People who started receiving Social Security before May 1997, or who receive both Social Security and SSI, will receive their payment on this date.
  • April 9: You will receive your payment on this day if you were born between the 1st and the 10th of the month.
  • April 16: Your payment will arrive on this date if you were born between April 11 and 20.
  • April 23: If your birthday falls between April 21 and 31, your payment will arrive on the fourth Wednesday.
