A leak reveals more details about Samsung’s next Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip smartphones

A new report from SamMobile has provided some details about the successors of last year’s Galaxy Z Fold2 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G. According to the website, Samsung has chosen SM-F926 as the model number for the next Galaxy Z Fold and SM-F711 for this year’s Galaxy Z Flip.

Additionally, SamMobile alleges that both devices will ship running One UI 3.5, which would be the third version of One UI 3.x. However, this would follow Samsung’s nomenclature for One UI 2x. Similarly, Samsung will compile One UI 3.5 on the same Android base as One UI 3.0 and One UI 3.1, rather than Android 12. Hence, both of Samsung’s 2021 foldable smartphones will arrive on Android 11 and should receive three OS upgrades to Android 14.

SamMobile adds that Samsung will sell the next Galaxy Z Flip with 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. By contrast, the company will configure this year’s Galaxy Z Fold with at least 256 GB; presumably, there will be 512 GB configurations, also.

The website did not comment on any previous rumours about Samsung’s next foldable smartphones. With that said, their release on One UI 3.5 implies that Samsung will release them in the second half of 2021, not this side of summer as had previously been suggested.
