Investopedia Academy and Money Expert Farnoosh Torabi Launch Personal Finance Course for Millennials

Master Your Money aims to help millennials take control of their financial lives

Investopedia Academy, an online education platform that empowers consumers with financial knowledge and practical investing skills, today launched “Master Your Money,” a new personal finance course geared towards millennials. The course is taught by Farnoosh Torabi, money expert, bestselling author and host of the “So Money” podcast.

Over 50% of millennials consistently experience high to moderate anxiety about losing their job, their level of savings, and their income, according to a Northwestern Mutual Study. The “Master Your Money” course teaches millennials how to save more, spend wisely, and invest for the future. Torabi guides users through achieving their financial goals — from paying off debt, to buying a new home, to saving for retirement.

“Finance is literally making millennials sick — 23% of millennials say that financial stress makes them physically ill on a weekly or monthly basis. Financial health is a lot like physical health. It requires taking control and committing to a program,” said Torabi. “So many millennials are setting their 2018 New Year’s Resolution goals around getting a better handle on their finances. This course is a great way to get started, by learning the basic fundamentals of achieving their ultimate financial goals, whether that means buying a car or home, co-signing on a lease, walking down the aisle or applying for a new job.”

With over 15 years of experience providing financial advice, Torabi continues to explore ways to help individuals live richer, happier lives. The curriculum shares personal anecdotes from Torabi and includes some of the latest behavioral tricks to help users reach financial health.

“As we grow Investopedia Academy, our driving mission is to create courses that really make a difference in our users’ lives, especially new college graduates and millennials who are just getting their financial start,” said Greg Giusti, GM, Investopedia Academy. “People are overloaded with content, making it hard to cut through the noise and make the right decisions. By partnering with an expert like Farnoosh, Investopedia Academy is providing young consumers with actionable content to help them get a handle on their finances.”
